New Chinese 7-seater SUV launched in South Africa – Pricing and features
LDV has officially launched the new D90 seven-seater SUV in South Africa.
The D90 is the third product introduced by the Chinese carmaker, joining the T60 and the newly-launched Terron 9 bakkie.
It is now available in two specifications, and prices start at R799,900.
Engine
Both versions of the SUV are powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine, which puts out 160kW and 500Nm.
This is sent down to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
The vehicle itself is 5,046mm long, 2,016mm wide, and 1,876mm tall.
It has a wheelbase measuring 2,960mm, and 230mm of ground clearance.
It is also rated to tow up to 3,100kg, and comes standard with a rear diff lock.
Furthermore, the D90 has terrain settings for Sand, Gravel, Snow, Rock, and Auto, and two driving modes – Sport and Eco.
Features
The Chinese SUV is available in either an “Elite” or “Flagship” guise – both of which are generously equipped.
The Elite comes standard with 18-inch alloy wheels, automatic LED headlights, keyless entry and start, a leather multifunction steering wheel, tri-zone automatic climate control, a wireless phone charger, an eight-speaker JBL stereo, a digital driver display, and a 12.3-inch infotainment screen.
It also has safety and assistance functions like adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, automatic emergency braking, a rearview camera, parking sensors, and seven airbags.
Upgrading to the Flagship will then add larger 20-inch alloys, a heated steering wheel, heated and ventilated front seats, four more speakers, a second charging pad, a 360-degree camera, a panoramic sunroof, and a front and middle diff lock.
