New limited-edition BMW M2 and motorcycles for South Africa – Pricing
BMW has launched a new, limited-edition performance car and two motorcycles in South Africa.
The company announced that, for the first time, BMW South Africa and BMW Motorrad South Africa have teamed up to develop twin editions that show off their family connections.
“The collaboration sees both brands introduce special editions of their high-performance models, enhanced with additional M character, strong personalisation and offered only in South Africa,” said the German automaker.
The result of this project is the new BMW M2 Coupe RR Edition, the BMW M 1000 RR M2 Edition and the BMW S 1000 RR M2 Edition.
All three models will be limited to just 10 units each.
The two motorbikes are available immediately, with prices starting at R406,950 for the S 1000 RR M2 Edition, while the M 1000 RR M2 Edition costs R882,100.
The M2 Coupe, meanwhile, will only be offered in the final quarter of 2026 with pricing to be determined at launch.
The performance car will also be limited to 10 units, but with an even split between the manual and automatic versions.
Exclusive Performance

South Africa’s best-selling sports motorcycle, the S 1000 RR Edition, has received new red accents on the front fairing and seat cover that set it apart from the standard units.
This is contrasted against an exclusive new Black Storm Metallic paint job. It also has a new tinted windscreen, an M-embossed seat, and red-accented Design Option wheels.
The M 1000 RR Edition superbike has been given a similar makeover, with red accents on its M Carbon wheels, the fuel tank, front fairings, and M winglets.
Both models have distinctive RR logos on the front side fairings with a bright red finish. They are also offered with Akrapovic exhaust systems.
Functionally, they are identical to the standard bikes on which they are based. The S has an inline-four engine with 125kW, while the M has a much higher output of 160kW.
As for the M2 Coupe, the RR Edition has a new Black Sapphire Metallic paint scheme, M Performance suspension with red springs, and M Performance wheels with a Jet Black finish.
The wheels measure 20 inches at the front, and 21 inches at the back.
It also has black front and rear splitters with red inserts, and two rear spoilers on the roof and bootlid.
A customizable Akrapovic exhaust has been developed specially for this model.
Inside, the black seats continue the theme with red contrast stitching. The steering wheel has a red 12 o’clock position marker with two M buttons for selecting individually configured vehicle settings.
The RR Edition also features an exclusive sunroof.
Like the motorcycles, the underlying mechanics are unchanged, so you can expect a 3.0-litre TwinPower Turbo petrol engine with 353kW and 600Nm, which is sent to the rear wheels.
The manual units have a six-speed shifter, while the automatic makes use of an eight-speed M Steptronic transmission.
