New BMW R 1250 GS – Starting at R322,000

The new BMW R 1250 GS and R 1250 GS Adventure are now available in South Africa.

The motorbike features a 1,200cc two-cylinder boxer engine that puts out 100kW and 143Nm, along with BMW ShiftCam technology for varying valve control timing.

This provides “superior power across the entire speed range, extremely smooth and quiet running, and outstanding consumption and emission values”, said BMW.

BMW highlighted a long list of features available in the new BMW R 1250 GS and R 1250 GS Adventure, which comprises a range of performance and comfort systems.

This includes the following standard equipment and optional extras:

Seat heating
Eco riding mode
USB and 12V sockets
Integral ABS Pro
Hill Start Control Pro
Dynamic Traction Control
Full-LED adaptive headlight
Electronic Dynamic ESA chassis
Multifunctional instrument cluster with 6.5-inch full-colour TFT display
Extended range of optional equipment and BMW Motorrad Accessories

Options

The BMW R 1250 GS and R 1250 GS Adventure are available in a number of variants; including white and grey colour schemes, “triple black” options, a Style Rallye Package, and a Special Edition 40 Years of GS model.

“In their respective basic versions, the new BMW R 1250 GS and R 1250 GS Adventure emphasise their more precise nature and universal talents in light white solid paint and ice grey solid paint,” said BMW.

“In addition, the triple black style and Rallye style variants, available ex works as optional equipment, each offer two particularly expressive colour concepts.”

The “40 Years GS” in black and yellow are then based on a milestone in GS history: the 40th anniversary of the BMW GS models in 2020.
