New Jetour Dashing launched in South Africa – Pricing and features

Jetour has officially launched the facelifted Dashing SUV in South Africa.

The Dashing and its seven-seater equivalent, the X70 Plus, were two of the first cars Jetour introduced when it opened its doors in South Africa in September 2024.

Nearly two years later, the Chinese carmaker has brought out the facelifted version of the Dashing, improving its performance, updating its styling, and adding all-new features.

It has also seemingly received a small price cut, as the new Dashing starts at R429,900 rather than the previously listed price of R439,900.

Engine

The Dashing is still equipped with a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine, but its output has increased considerably.

The old version produced 115kW and 230Nm, but the new version puts out 125kW and 270Nm.

Additionally, the gearbox has been upgraded from a six-speed dual-clutch automatic to a seven-speed one.

Jetour said that these changes have improved the car’s performance and efficiency, though it did not provide specific figures.

For reference, the old models have a top speed of 180km/h and consume an average of 7.8l/100km.

Features

The facelift has added new red accents to the Dashing’s exterior under the grille and along the sides, enhancing its sporty appearance.

It’s also available in one of six colours: Onyx Black, Slate Grey, Forest Green, Ash Grey, Crimson Red, or Glacier White.

The vehicle itself is still available in two trim levels, though the names have been changed. The base Momentum is now the Prestige, while the range-topping Deluxe is now the Prime.

The company stated that the new Prime comes with an eight-speaker Sony audio system, privacy glass, dual-zone climate control, a panoramic glass sunroof, and heated and ventilated front seats.

It also has a Level 2 ADAS system with Intelligent High and Low beams, a 540-degree panoramic view camera system, and front parking sensors.

All of this is in addition to the kit that was standard on the old models, such as 19-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, an electric tailgate, rain-sensing wipers, keyless entry and start, leather upholstery with red stitching, a 40W wireless charger, ambient lighting and a dual display comprised of two 10.25-inch screens for the driver and infotainment systems.

The previous version also included safety features like tyre pressure monitoring, electronic stability control, traction control, ABS, hill assist, cruise control, blind spot detection, lane-keep assist, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear parking sensors.

Pricing

The South African pricing for the new Jetour Dashing is as follows:

  • Jetour Dashing 1.5T Prestige – R429,900
  • Jetour Dashing 1.5T Prime – R479,900

This includes a 5-year/150,000km warranty and a 5-year/60,000km service plan, with an additional 10-year/1-million kilometre engine warranty for the first owner.
