Chery Tiggo 4 Pro updated in South Africa based on customer feedback

Around 10 months after it first launched in South Africa, Chery has updated the Tiggo 4 Pro range by introducing three new models with enhanced features that were added based on customer feedback.

Currently, the updated models are being sold under the “MY22” designation, but they will soon phase out the old specifications to become the only Tiggo 4 Pros on offer.

“In November this year, we will celebrate the first full year of sales, but we did not wait for this milestone to collect feedback from our customers,” said Tony Liu, executive deputy general manager, Chery South Africa.

“Instead, we have been on the road with dealers and customers to find out what they like, what they would like to change, and what we could offer more.”

What’s new

For the entry-level Tiggo 4 Pro Urban, the MY22 updates come in the form of vegan leather upholstery replacing the cloth of old, covering the seats, steering wheel, and door inlays.

In addition, the Urban now gets a new multi-adjustable driver’s seat, central front armrest, adjustable rear headrests, a built-in coatrack, voice command, a digital tyre-pressure monitor, a seatbelt reminder for the front passenger seat, and six airbags instead of two.

The mid-range MY22 Tiggo 4 Pro Comfort boasts the same enhancements as the Urban, but is offered in automatic guise whereas the Urban is only manual.

On the top-of-the-line Elite SE, the MY22 updates then continue with a suite of advanced driver assist systems.

Using radar sensors and cameras, this flagship Chery now sports an around-view monitor for low-speed manoeuvres, adaptive cruise control, a pre-collision warning system, and lane-keep and departure alerts.

Finally, the entire MY22 Tiggo 4 Pro range can now also close their windows with the key fob. Previously, this was only possible on the Elite.

Each purchase includes a 5-year/150,000km general warranty, a 10-year/1-million kilometre engine warranty, and a 5-year/60,000km service plan.
