The Jaecoo J7 has officially landed in South Africa, adding another premium model to the country’s SUV catalogue at an attractive price
The Chinese vehicle is available in three specifications – Vortex, Glacier, and Inferno – which start at R549,999, R599,999, and R679,999, respectively.
Running on a 1.6-litre, turbocharged petrol plant, the J7 produces 145kW and 290Nm and drives either the front or all four wheels through a seven-speed automatic gearbox.
It boasts an average fuel consumption of 7.5l/100km and features Eco, Normal, and Sport driving modes on all variants, as well as Mud, Off-Road, Sand, and Snow on the all-wheel-drive units.
Every model comes with automatic LED lights, rain-sensing wipers, 18-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone climate control, keyless entry and start, leather upholstery, ambient lighting, a 50W wireless smartphone charger, a 360-degree camera system, front parking sensors, electric front seats, an eight-speaker Sony sound system, an electric tailgate, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, a 13.2-inch infotainment unit, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and offline navigation.
Higher-tier options then add a panoramic sunroof, a heated steering wheel, ventilated and heated front seats, a 14.8-inch central screen, a heads-up display, intelligent high-beam assist, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot detection, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-change assist, automatic emergency braking, door-opening warning, child detection, and 19-inch alloys.
Each purchase of the new J7 is completed with a 5-year/150,000km warranty, a 4-year/70,000km service plan, and a 10-year/1-million kilometre engine warranty.
