Kia has updated the Seltos family crossover for South Africa, giving it a refreshed look, new features, and three different engines.
The catalogue now consists of eight units, with prices ranging from R467,995 to R626,995.
Powertrain choices start with a 1.5-litre, naturally-aspirated petrol plant with 84kW and 144Nm, which can be paired to a six-speed manual gearbox or a CVT.
There’s also a 1.5-litre turbo-diesel producing 85kW and 250Nm with the same transmission options; and a range-topping 1.5-litre turbo-petrol with a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox generating 118kW and 253Nm.
The base Seltos comes with automatic headlights, LED daytime running lights, 16-inch wheels, cloth seats, a height-adjustable driver’s seat, keyless entry, a leather multifunction steering wheel, a 4.2-inch digital driver’s display, an 8-inch infotainment unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, six speakers, cruise control, rear parking sensors, and a rearview camera.
Those who spring for one of the higher-tier options can also expect items such as 18-inch alloys, dual-zone climate control, a wireless charger, artificial leather upholstery, push-button start, a 10.25-inch media display, a 10.25-inch driver monitor, front parking sensors, an electronic parking brake with hill-start assist, LED headlights, and red brake calipers.
The Kia Seltos is sold with a 5-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty and a 5-year/90,000km service plan.
