Haval has updated its Jolion range for South Africa, introducing a brand-new Pro series in the process.
The Jolion Pro line-up consists of five units, with prices running from R391,150 to R516,950.
Every model is powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine, though the output varies depending on the specification.
The lower-spec units have access to 105kW and 210Nm, which is transmitted to the front wheels via a seven-speed, dual-clutch automatic gearbox, resulting in an average consumption of 8.1l/100km.
One step above is the Jolion Pro S, which is uprated to produce 130kW and 270Nm, but claims to have a lower consumption of 7.5l/100km.
Those who are keen to save on fuel can also check out the hybrid-electric (HEV) derivative, which is the most powerful of the group with 140kW and 375Nm.
It uses a so-called Dedicated Hybrid Transmission and achieves a much better petrol usage of 5.1l/100km.
Standard kit on the new Jolion Pro includes 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic headlights, keyless entry and start, a multifunction steering wheel with paddle shifters, climate control, a 3.5-inch driver’s display, a 10.25-inch infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, four speakers, cruise control, rear parking sensors, hill assist, and a reverse camera.
The mid-range units also get LED headlights, a panoramic sunroof, Eco-leather seats, an electric driver’s seat, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch central touchscreen, six speakers, adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition, and lane-keep assist.
The top-end models, further benefit from a heads-up display, a wireless charger, heated and ventilated seats, a 360-degree camera, front parking sensors, blind-spot detection, and a parking assistant.
Each purchase of the upgraded Haval comes with a 7-year/200,000km warranty, a 5-year/75,000km service plan, and 7-year/unlimited-kilometre roadside assistance, with an additional 8-year/150,000km battery warranty on the hybrid.
