The Foton Tunland G7 has officially gone on sale in South Africa, giving local motorists their first taste of what’s to come from the Chinese carmaker.
The G7 is available in six specifications, where the range-topping Limited 4×4 model retails for a minimum of R599,900.
The foundation of the Tunland is a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine, which puts out a total of 120kW and 390Nm.
This power is transmitted to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic gearbox in the flagship model, leading to an average fuel consumption of 7.4l/100km.
It can also tow 3,000kg, and carry a maximum of 1,000kg in the load bed.
Additionally, the Foton is equipped with a rear diff lock and has a ground clearance of 210mm.
Regarding its styling, the Limited benefits from a chrome grille, a sunroof, a power inverter, a crate guardrail, a rope hook in the load box, 18-inch alloy wheels, a rear sports bar, automatic headlights, and LED daytime running lights.
Its equipment list comprises keyless entry and start, electric front seats with heating and ventilation, a wireless charging pad, dual-zone climate control, six speakers, fabric and faux-leather upholstery, a digital driver’s display, and a 12.3-inch infotainment system with onboard navigation, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.
This is on top of helpful items like a 360-degree camera, cruise control, hill-hold and descent control, tyre-pressure monitoring, front and rear parking sensors, forward-collision warning, blind-spot detection, door-opening warning, and rear cross-traffic alert.
Each purchase of the Tunland comes with a 5-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty, a 3-year/50,000km service plan, and 5-year/unlimited-kilometre roadside assistance.
