The first batch of new VW T-Cross models has officially gone on sale in South Africa with prices ranging from R462,200 to R533,100.
The line-up currently consists of three 85kW TSI units, as the more affordable 70kW powerplant will only be added at a later date.
As a result, you can expect a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine with an output of 85kW and 200Nm, which is sent down to the front wheels.
Combined with a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, the crossover achieves an average fuel consumption of 5.3l/100km.
As for its features, the revitalized VW features new automatic LED headlights, daytime running lights and taillights, and alloy wheels that start at 16 inches in size.
The starting Life trim also comes with a new 8-inch infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an 8-inch Digital Cockpit, cloth seats, manual aircon, a multifunction steering wheel with paddle shifters, cruise control, six speakers, a wireless charger, front and rear parking sensors, and six airbags.
The mid-range Style then adds larger 17-inch alloys, roof rails, rain-sensing wipers, a 10-inch driver display, and dual-zone climate control.
Upgrading to the top-spec R-Line will throw in ArtVelour R-Line seats, stainless steel pedals, and R-Line badges.
Every purchase includes a 3-year/120,000km warranty and a 3-year/45,000km service plan.
