New GWM P300 – South African pricing and specifications
GWM has officially launched the new P300 in South Africa at a starting price of R599,900.
The P300 is a thoroughly revamped version of the P-Series bakkie, and is currently available in three specifications.
All three units are powered by the same 2.4-litre turbo-diesel engine found in the larger P500.

South Africa’s richest province saying goodbye to potholes
Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi confirmed this week that the province is taking comprehensive measures to address the many potholes plaguing its roads.
The Premier highlighted six major routes that will be resurfaced and expanded in the near future, including interchanges in Johannesburg and Pretoria.
More than 40 roads around the province have also been recently restored, Lesufi said.

Free public transport win for the Western Cape
The Western Cape’s “Getting YOU to Work” campaign has proven to be a great success, according to Premier Alan Winde.
The initiative was launched last year and provides free transport vouchers for unemployed citizens attending job interviews.
Since its launch, more than 2,300 people have applied for the vouchers – roughly 50% of which have since found a job.

Gauteng one step closer to new bullet train
Gauteng and Limpopo are moving forward with their plans to build a new high-speed railway between the two provinces.
Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi confirmed during his State of the Province Address this week that the high-speed rail plan has “started to move.”
The completed project will run for approximately 500km, linking Pretoria to Polokwane and other towns.

3 new VW Tiguan models launched in South Africa – Pricing
VW has launched three new models for the Tiguan SUV in South Africa.
This includes two new 2.0-litre TDI (diesel) units, as well as a flagship 2.0-litre TSI (petrol) option.
The expanded Tiguan roster now features six different models, with prices starting at R664,500.
