New Hyundai Tucson in South Africa – More features at a lower price

Hyundai has launched the facelifted Tucson in South Africa, making notable changes to the lineup in the process.
The SUV is now available in three specifications with prices starting at R559,900.
This means that two variants have been dropped from the range, however, it’s certainly worth noting that vehicle’s starting price has also been cut by R39,000.
Engines
The Tucson is sold with one of two engines, starting with a 2.0-litre petrol block with 115kW and 192Nm.
This is sent down to the front wheels via a six-speed automatic gearbox, resulting in an average fuel consumption of 8.9l/100km.
The other power source is a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel mill, which generates a total of 137kW and 416Nm.
The diesel powertrain is found on both the mid-range Tucson Executive and the top-spec N Line, which determines the car’s wheel configuration.
The Executive is front-wheel drive, while the N Line is all-wheel drive.
Both versions achieve an average fuel consumption of 7.4l/100km, and make use of an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Features
The facelift has given the Hyundai subtle visual overhaul, starting with a revised set of “Parametric Jewel” daytime running lights.
It also features a new bumper and skid plate, as well as an updated set of alloy wheels that start at 18 inches in size.
The biggest change to the interior, meanwhile, is a new curved, floating dual 12-inch display for the driver and infotainment systems, in contrast to the separate screens in the outgoing models.
Standard equipment on the base Premium units now comprises LED headlights, auto-folding side mirrors, a multifunction steering wheel, artificial leather upholstery, manual air conditioning, a wireless charging pad, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, cruise control, front and rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, and blind-spot monitoring.
The mid-range Executive adds to this with larger 19-inch alloys, roof rails, rain-sensing wipers, keyless entry and start, automatic climate control, electronically adjustable front seats with lumbar support, heating, and ventilation functions, a heated steering wheel, and an electric tailgate.
Anyone who picks up the flagship N Line can also expect a driver attention monitor, lane-keep assist, rear cross-traffic alert, a panoramic sunroof, a Bose stereo, and adaptive cruise control.
The N Line further features a number of sporty-themed cosmetics inspired by the brand’s N performance division, including a bespoke set of 19-inch rims, N Line badges, a black-and-chrome grille, and N-branded seats with leather/suede upholstery and a red stitching pattern.
