The BMW X3 Mzansi Edition is a new, South African-exclusive, R1-million SUV.
It is the latest in a line of local-only BMWs, and is built at the Rosslyn assembly plant in Pretoria.
It is differentiated from its similarly-priced siblings through a set of features that make the Mzansi Edition more affordable than if you were to select the options individually.
The most notable additions include the M Sport package and the Shadowline styling package – which blacks out the SUV’s grille and several body bits.
Sporty bumpers, M badging, a dual-pipe exhaust, red M sport brakes, carbon mirror caps, a rear wing, and sports alloy wheels are included as part of the above.
On the inside, the Mzansi Edition is equally well-equipped.
It offers ambient lighting, wireless charging, and a sunroof as standard.
This is in addition to live cockpit professional, which treats the driver to a large digital instrument cluster, and the top-of-the-line iDrive infotainment system.
Powering this model is a 2.0-litre diesel engine that produces 140kW and 400Nm, mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels.
The 100km/h landmark is reached in 8.0 seconds, and BMW said this SUV can do 213km/h.
The South African price for the BMW X3 xDrive20d Mzansi Edition is R1,012,938.
Every purchase includes a 5-year/100,000km BMW Motorplan.
