The VW Polo is one of South Africa’s best-selling passenger vehicles and it can be fitted with a wide range of optional extras.
We dove into this popular hatchback’s brochure to see just how much these features cost.
Below, we detail the five most expensive factory-fitted options for the VW Polo.
Panoramic sunroof – R13,000
The VW Polo comes standard with a solid roof, but a panoramic sunroof can be installed to every specification except the entry-level Trendline trim.
The sunroof spans from the top of the windshield to about halfway through the roofline, and sits on top of the roof once opened.
Fitting this option will cost you R13,000.
Discover Media Navigation – R13,200
The Discover Media Navigation with Mapcare, App-Connect, and voice control upgrades the standard “Composition” infotainment system fitted to most VW Polos.
This package adds an 8-inch infotainment display that makes integrated navigation and voice control available.
It also supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and allows the use of WeConnectGo online services.
Fitting this option will cost you R13,200.
Beats Special Edition – R13,250
The Beats Special Edition option is a styling and audio package that can only be fitted to the Polo Comfortline trim.
Selecting this package sees the fitment of 16-inch “Las Minas” alloy wheels, a Beats-themed strip running along the bonnet and roof, and black tinted windows – while the interior is treated to red trim accents and Beats logos.
In addition, a 300-watt Beats Audio sound system with six speakers is included.
Fitting this option will cost you R13,250.
LED lights – R14,200
As standard, the VW Polo range – bar the GTI – is fitted with halogen lamps and LED daytime running lights.
With the LED lights package installed, every light cluster gets LEDs that emit a much brighter and stronger light than the standard lamps.
Fitting this option will cost you R14,200.
R-Line Interior and Exterior – R21,400
Two R-Line styling packages are available for the VW Polo, with one changing the look of only the exterior, while the other upgrades the interior, too.
On the outside, the styling pack adds exclusive badging, C-signature front air curtains in high gloss black, a sporty rear diffuser, a new roof edge spoiler, and 17-inch “Bonneville” alloy wheels.
The interior is then treated to R-Line-branded seats, and the standard cruise control is swapped for the customer’s choice of either cruise control with a speed limiter or adaptive cruise control.
Fitting the exterior-only option will cost you R19,200, while the more comprehensive package sets you back R21,400.
