Toyota Corolla Hybrid Xs – How much finance payments are

The Toyota Corolla Hybrid Xs will cost potential owners R7,900 per month when purchasing the car using a vehicle finance plan.
This is based on a calculation performed by TopAuto.
The Corolla Hybrid is currently only offered in a “mid-range” Xs specification, which sells for R419,900.
Standard features include automatic LED lights with daytime running lights, keyless entry, climate control, all-round electric windows, a reverse camera, cruise control, and a 7.0-inch infotainment display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Of course, it retains its sedan body shape and four doors – but now packs a 1.8-litre petrol engine connected to an electric motor which produces a combined system output of 90kW and 163Nm.
Drive is then handled by a CVT transmission, which allows for a combined fuel consumption of 3.5l/100km.
Toyota has also included a 3-year/100,000km warranty, a 6-services/90,000km service plan, and an 8-year/195,000km hybrid battery warranty as standard.
Finance payments
To work out how much you will pay per month to own a new Corolla Hybrid Xs, we used the formula below.
- Car Price – R419,900
- Payment Term – 60 terms (5 years)
- Interest – 9%
- Deposit – 10%
- Balloon – No balloon payment
- Extras – No optional extras
The result is a finance instalment of R7,900 per month.
The total amount of interest you will pay over the duration of the finance agreement is R93,000.
Potential owners must also take into account how much they will pay per month in insurance premiums and fuel costs when assessing the affordability of the car.
The Corolla Hybrid has a big advantage over many family sedans in this regard, thanks to its low combined fuel consumption of 3.5l/100km.
This makes the vehicle an attractive proposition for those who drive a lot on a daily basis.
