These cars are two examples of the “unglamorous” vehicles which sell well in South Africa.
And we do not use the term unglamorous in a negative light – these cars are the unsung heroes which allow their owners the freedom to build fantastic sports cars and supreme 4x4s.

To find out which cars in South Africa sell well, we looked at Naamsa’s new vehicle sales report for September 2021, which detailed the sales figures of 41 vehicle manufacturers in the country.
The report shows that small hatchbacks and crossovers are very popular with local car buyers, with Toyota, VW, Renault, and Suzuki performing strongly in these segments.
Hyundai, Kia, and Haval also performed well, thanks to the more affordable vehicles these brands have on offer.

It must be noted that this is not an exhaustive list, and is only a selection of models from a range of brands that have sold well in September.
