Haval’s latest H6 is the third generation of the model and went on sale in South Africa in June 2021.
Its position as the most powerful SUV on the market for under R500,000 coincides with the brand’s play to grow its popularity in the country – a move that is paying dividends.
Haval launched in South Africa in May 2017, and after four years in the country has established itself as a top-10 brand in terms of new-car sales.
Looking at the latest H6 model, it is sold with a 5-year/100,000km warranty and a 5-year/60,000km service plan.
It also features a new suspension setup for improved handling and control, while the vehicle’s centre of mass was lowered by 20mm compared to the previous generation.
This helps to reduce body roll, said the company.
Additionally, Haval said that 71.61% of the new H6 is constructed using high-strength steel. This, along with a pedestrian protection system with a collapsible steering column, gives the SUV its best-ever impact protection.
Along with its power and improved safety, Haval has included a range of features as standard on the H6.
This includes leather upholsteries, electrically-adjustable front seats, keyless entry, and a 12.3-inch infotainment display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Traffic sign recognition, adaptive cruise control, and traffic jam assist are then supported through a 10.25-inch instrument cluster on the Luxury models.
A 360-degree camera, lane-keeping assist, lane departure warning, all-round blind-spot monitoring, and an alarm and immobiliser are also included in this H6.
For those with a bit more money to spend, Haval also offers a Super Luxury version of the H6.
This model produces the same power and drive as the Luxury model, but provides a few extras which take its price to R514,900.
