Luxury SUVs are a hit in South Africa, none more so than the Toyota Prado.
This high-rider sold 127 units in March 2022, making it the best-selling luxury SUV in the country for this period.
The “luxury” segment might be a bit of grey area, as there is no straightforward definition as to what qualifies, but we went for the best-selling SUVs in the country that have starting prices of over R1,000,000.
The SUVs
BMW is undoubtedly the country’s favourite brand when it comes to luxury SUVs, with four out of its seven ranges featured in the top 20 best-sellers list.
Land Rover is hot on its heels, with multiple vehicles under both the Land Rover and Range Rover banners selling well above average.
Audi is another popular manufacturer in the local luxury SUV segment, with its Q5 Sportback, Q7, and Q8 all making it into the top 20.
You can find the best-selling SUVs in South Africa, according to Naamsa’s new vehicle sales report for March 2022, listed below.
Mercedes-Benz and Porsche do not report sales per model, and for this reason were not included in the comparison.
Porsche previously told TopAuto that its SUVs are its best-selling vehicles in the country.
