Most popular car from every brand in South Africa

South Africans are interested in cars of all shapes and sizes, according to last month’s new vehicle sales statistics.

The best-selling car in South Africa last month was the Toyota Hilux – with over 2,700 units sold.

Likewise, the Ford Ranger and the new Isuzu D-Max performed similarly well as the best-selling cars of their respective brands, showing that South Africa still loves its bakkies.

In sharp contrast to the Hilux, the second-best-selling car in April was the Suzuki Swift, a small city hatchback.

Other hatchbacks that also performed well include the Kia Picanto, Fiat 500, Peugeot 208, and the ever-popular VW Polo Vivo.

South Africa’s competitive crossover market saw a number of sales from different brands, too, with highly favoured models being the Haval Jolion, Mahindra XUV300, Renault Kiger, and Hyundai Venue.

In the supercar category, Ferrari saw its F8 as the most sought-after model by those looking for Italian excellence.

South Africa’s favourite models

Below are the most popular cars from every car brand in South Africa for the month of April.

Please note that brands including BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, and Bentley do not report individual sales and are therefore not on this list, though Porsche has previously confirmed that the Macan and Cayenne are its most popular models.
