Best-selling supercars in South Africa

South Africans are very fond of supercars. Not only looking at them, but also buying them.

In August, local customers took home at least 6 Ferraris, 8 Lamborghinis, and a whopping 111 Porsches.

The F8, Portofino, and Roma were the top choices for prancing horse buyers, whereas the other two manufacturers did not reveal which of their models performed the best.

However, if we were to make bets based on previous experience, it’s possible that the Urus was Lamborghini’s top seller, as it’s the best-selling vehicle this manufacturer has ever built.

Similarly, Porsche previously confirmed that the Macan and Cayenne SUVs are the favourites among its South African buyers, and we wouldn’t be surprised if that’s still the case.

These were not the only high-performance vehicles sold, either.

One buyer ran off with an Audi e-tron GT which uses its all-electric power to jet from 0-100km/h in as little as 4.5 seconds. If this high-roller opted for the RS version, the time comes down to 3.3 seconds.

Three individuals also took home a new Bentley, of which there are three different vehicle ranges to choose from, and 34 signed the contract on an iconic Ford Mustang, the last naturally-aspirated V8 still on the market.

Unfortunately, other premium marques selling cars in South Africa, including Aston Martin, Maserati, McLaren, and Rolls-Royce, do not report their individual performances so we can’t accurately gauge where they stand in the top-sellers charts.
