Bugatti has launched a certified pre-owned program for the Veyron and Chiron meaning you can now buy one of the marque’s used hypercars from an authorized dealer with a factory-backed warranty.
This way, Bugatti can ensure these vehicles carry on the prestige of the brand by having its experienced and certified technicians clean and refurbish them to factory standards before they are sold again.
What’s covered
For the older Veyron, the one-year limited warranty includes all mechanical and electrical items and covers the cost of parts and labour, while the newer Chiron gets a comprehensive warranty that extends to corrosion and paintwork issues.
“The warranty applies worldwide, so even if a customer, for example, buys their car in the Middle East and eventually drives it in Europe, it will still be covered by all European Bugatti Service Partners,” said the automaker.
Any after-sales work being done is carried out by Bugatti service partners with Bugatti parts, these parts shipping with a separate two-year warranty that covers replacement and labour.
Certified pre-owned buyers also receive the added bonus of an inclusive annual service within the first year of ownership, “and all customers who make a purchase will receive official certification of their car’s status,” said the manufacturer.
Any of the 33 Bugatti partners across the globe are able to offer pre-owned Veyrons and Chirons as well as source these supercars for interested buyers.
Unsurprisingly, the pre-owned vehicles are not listed on the dealer websites as they would be with most other brands making it rather tough to gauge availability and pricing. Though as the old saying goes: if you have to ask, you probably can’t afford it.
Nevertheless, the cars playing in this league do not lose their value nearly as rapidly as the everyday sports sedan and we wouldn’t be surprised if they still sell for close to the sticker value.
When new, the Chiron has a starting price of around $3,000,000 (R54 million) and we doubt you’ll see one selling for far below this.
The Veyron has also fetched pre-owned prices of around $1,000,000 (R18 million) and up in recent years from non-Bugatti dealers, though we’re not sure what sort of markups will come along with the certified pre-owned designation.
