Crossovers selling for the same price as the new Hyundai Venue

The facelifted Hyundai Venue is now available in South Africa, with prices starting at R294,900.

The updated line-up comprises six models and two engines, with the entry-level Motion being the only one to receive the 1.2-litre powerplant producing 61kW and 115Nm.

Every other model in the series, including the top-of-the-line N Line, is then shipped with a 1.0-litre turbocharged drivetrain which delivers a larger 88kW and 172Nm.

Two gearboxes are available for this motor, either a six-speed manual or a seven-speed automatic, and fuel consumption is pegged at 6.5l/100km and 6.9l/100km, respectively.

Looking at the list of selling points, standard fittings include a rear-view camera, rear park assist, a 4.2-inch digital driver display, a multifunction steering wheel, 15-inch rims, and an infotainment display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.

Further up the price bracket, buyers are treated to larger 16-inch alloys, dual-zone automatic air conditioning, artificial leather upholstery, hill assist, electronic stability control, and LED daytime-running lights.

Those who grab the top-spec model can additionally look forward to a customized N Line interior, electronically adjustable driver’s seat, three selectable driving modes,  aluminium driving pedals, and keyless start and entry.
