How much it costs to fill up the 10 most popular cars in South Africa – February vs March

Many South Africans are paying up to R65 more to fill up their tanks this month, following the latest price hikes.

Petrol users are experiencing the brunt of the increases, as the cost of this fuel type went up by R1.27 per litre compared to what it was in February.

Diesel drivers, on the other hand, saw a lesser increase of 31 cents per litre, showing a return to normalcy for what is historically the cheaper fuel, following a significant spike in diesel costs towards the end of 2022.

As a result, the average diesel user is expected to face an increase of up to R24 per refuel.

The current fuel prices for March 2023 are as follows:

Fuel type Inland Coastal
Petrol 93 R22.65 R22.00
Petrol 95 R22.95 R22.30
Diesel 0.05% R21.62 R20.97
