Ferrari F8 Tributo – A R100,000-per-month kind of car

The Ferrari F8 Tributo is the successor to the popular 488, and is the mid-range supercar for the brand.

It sits above the entry-level Roma and Portofino, but isn’t as mental as the flagship 812 Superfast or SF90 Stradale.

This spot, however, has always been populated by Ferrari’s best-selling and most well-known cars such as the 430, 458, and 488.

This makes the F8 quite an important vehicle for this marque.

F8 Specs

The Ferrari F8 Tributo comes in two styles, a coupe and a spider.

Both variants are fitted with a 3.9-litre, V8 engine that produces 530kW and 730Nm of torque. This sees the 0-100km/h sprint done in 2.9 seconds no matter which one you’re in.

The engine is mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission and power is sent to the rear wheels only.

As expected, the interior is treated to the latest and greatest from the brand, and is covered in only the most premium carbon, leather, and metal components.

The coupe, as the cheaper variant, has a starting price of R5,505,500.

The spider, as convertibles tend to do, has a higher starting price of R6,108,500.

Monthly payments

Coming up with R5.5 million cash for a new Ferrari is quite difficult to do for most, which makes financing a more reasonable approach when buying the car.

To see how much this will cost in monthly payments, we used a vehicle finance calculator and an accurate estimation of terms and conditions you will need to sign off on before taking delivery of your new F8.

These repayment terms are:

  • Price – Price of a new Ferrari F8
  • Deposit – 10%
  • Interest rate – 9%
  • Payment term – 60 months
  • No balloon payment or extras

The monthly payments on a new Ferrari F8 turned out to be:

  • Ferrari F8 Tributo – R102,951 per month
  • Ferrari F8 Spider – R114,216 per month

Upwards of R100,000 a month is a lot of money to spend on anything, let alone a car that can’t be driven every day.

If you decide to postpone your Ferrari purchase for one more month in favour of getting a daily driver first, a single F8 monthly instalment can buy you one of the following second-hand vehicles:

  • 2010 Audi A4 1.8T Attraction – R104,900
  • 2015 Hyundai i20 1.2 Motion – R102,900
  • 2019 Mazda 2 1.5 Active – R104,900
  • 2014 Renault Duster 1.6 Dynamique – R109,900
  • 2015 Volkswagen Polo Vivo 5-Door 1.4 Trendline – R100,000
