Formula 1 season is kicking off today, and new track weapons have been unveiled almost daily in recent weeks.
As impressive as the race cars might be, the safety cars for 2021 have taken styling and power to the next level.
For the 2021 Formula 1 season, two official safety car brands have been chosen.
These are Mercedes-Benz and Aston Martin.
Mercedes-Benz has decided to go with the GT R as their pace car, which races to 100km/h in 3.6 seconds and has a top speed of 318km/h.
For their medic vehicle, they opted for the C63 S Estate, which has an output of 375kW, and will be driven by South African Alan van der Merwe.
Aston Martin chose the Vantage for their pace car.
This sports coupé reaches 100km/h in 3.6 seconds and has a top speed of 314km/h.
In the medic vehicle department they chose the DBX, which is a large SUV that packs 405kW and 700Nm of torque – and can reach 100km/h in 4.5 seconds.
All these vehicles have customised paint jobs which make them stand out, and they all receive two additional screens in the interior to help them do their job.
The first shows the live television feed of the race, while the second displays where every racer is currently located on the track.
These cars showcase the best that the brands have to offer, as millions of eyes are on them at any given moment.
