Best-selling cars in South Africa

With an impressive 3,249 sales under its belt, the Toyota Hilux was South Africa’s best-selling vehicle in September.

In second sat the VW Polo Vivo which moved a still impressive but noticeably lower 2,698 units, edging out the Ford Ranger which grabbed third by finding 2,413 buyers.

Toyota’s Corolla Cross managed to take the fourth position owing to its 2,259 sales, while the Isuzu D-Max scooped up fifth with its 1,639 transactions.

South Africa’s favourite people mover, the Toyota Hiace, came in at the sixth spot generating 1,462 customers, the Suzuki Swift in seventh with 1,291, and another Toyota, the Starlet, in eighth with 1,247.

The last vehicle to surpass 1,000 was the VW Polo in ninth at a total of 1,148 sales, whereas the Nissan NP200 closed out the top 10 with 997 units moved.

Eleventh to twentieth place was then occupied by the Hyundai Grand i10, Toyota Fortuner, Chery Tiggo 4 Pro, Nissan Magnite, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Renault Kiger, Haval Jolion, Toyota Corolla Quest, and Toyota Vitz, respectively.

In total, the 20 best-selling vehicles tallied 25,771 sales, accounting for 56% of the 46,021 cars sold in the country in September.
