Toyota currently has an impressive 130 different models on sale in South Africa as of January 2024.
The country’s most popular manufacturer, Toyota routinely takes the top spot in each month’s best-seller lists thanks to its wide variety of models that cater to just about every consumer in South Africa’s motoring needs.
Its local catalogue now consists of three crossovers, five hatchbacks, one MPV, two minibuses, two sedans, two coupes, six SUVs, and two bakkies for a total of 23 different vehicles.
Included in this list are four GR originals from the brand’s racing division (short for Gazoo Racing), which comprise the GR Corolla and Yaris hot hatches, as well as the Supra and GR86 coupes.
The vehicle with the most extensive family is of course the Hilux bakkie, the Japanese automaker’s most sought-after set of wheels in South Africa, which has a staggering 41 different options to choose from – taking up roughly a third of Toyota’s domestic line-up.
