Double cabs competing against the new Isuzu D-Max X-Rider

Isuzu has revealed the pricing and specifications for the incoming D-Max X-Rider, giving motorists an idea of where the bakkie will place in the market and what its competitors are.

The range-topping X-Rider has a South African starting price of R740,700 and has a four-wheel-drive layout in combination with a six-speed automatic gearbox.

Power is delivered via a 1.9-litre turbocharged diesel engine that throws out 110kW and 350Nm, all while averaging 7.6l/100km on a typical fuel cycle.

It has a rear diff lock, can tow up to 2,100kg, and can also carry 1,000kg in the rear tray.

Exclusive X-Rider-themed additions to the double cab include LED headlights, a gloss black grille with a red Isuzu logo, X-Rider badges, dark grey roof rails, 18-inch alloy wheels with red logos, and black accents on several exterior components.

Inside, the seats are covered in leather with red contrast stitching, and there are special-edition rubber floormats paired with coloured accents in the door materials and on the gearstick and park brake.

Other equipment includes a six-speaker stereo, a rear USB port, keyless entry, a 7.0-inch infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, seven airbags, cruise control, rear parking sensors, a reverse camera, ABS with brake assist, hill-start and descent assist, trailer sway control, and electronic stability control with traction control.

Each purchase comes with a 5-year/120,000km warranty, 5-year/90,000km service plan, and 5-year/120,000km roadside assistance.
