Hugely-popular Plant-Based Whopper from Burger King is back
The wait is over – Burger King’s Plant-Based Whopper is back, completing its Veggie Kings line-up alongside the Vegan Royale and Vegan Nuggets.
You can now get all three plant-based options from any Burger King across South Africa.
The response to the launch of the plant-based range from Burger King has been overwhelmingly positive – and it was so popular that it sold out in November last year.
Burger King has since worked hard to bring the range back. It reintroduced its Vegan Royale and Vegan Nuggets earlier this year and is now completing the range with its Plant-Based Whopper.
The Plant-Based Whopper
This innovative Whopper comprises a plant-based patty that is flame-grilled just like the classic Whopper – so you get the same irresistible flavour.
The best part is that the patty is packed with soy protein, wheat protein, and wheat starch – and it contains no artificial colours, flavours, or preservatives.
The bun is also loaded with crisp lettuce, fresh tomato, onion, pickles, tomato sauce, and vegan mayonnaise, providing an irresistible flavour.
Vegan Royale and Vegan Nuggets
Burger King’s plant-based Whopper is complemented by its Vegan Royale and Vegan Nuggets – both of which contain 0% chicken, but offer 100% chicken flavour.
These delicious meals are made with soy and wheat protein and natural flavouring to produce plant-based patties and nuggets that are crispy and packed with flavour.
Top the patty with shredded lettuce and vegan mayonnaise, and place it on a bun, and you have the Burger King Vegan Royale that is perfect for vegans, vegetarians, and flexitarians.
This is because the patty is cooked in a dedicated fryer that contains no traces of animal products.
Alternatively, you can go for the Vegan Nuggets – which have a tender and juicy inside with a crisp batter that is perfect for dipping in Burger King’s delicious vegan BBQ sauce.
The Veggie King menu
The Vegan Royale and Vegan Nuggets form part of Burger King’s Veggie King menu, which was introduced as part of the company’s initiative to become the global leader in plant-based fast food.
The menu was developed by working with The Vegetarian Butcher and ProVeg’s V-label, ensuring that you get vegan, vegetarian, and plant-based alternatives that are affordable and, most importantly, incredibly tasty.
