New special-edition Porsche Cayenne for South Africa – Pricing revealed
Porsche has taken the covers off a new addition to the Cayenne SUV series known as the Black Edition.
The Black Edition is a special model that adds a host of exclusive new features and design elements, and the good news is that it is coming to South Africa.
The SUV recently made its debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the United Kingdom, where the company confirmed that deliveries around the world will start in the second half of 2025.
According to our sources at Duoporta Vehicle Information Specialists, the Black Edition will be available in six specifications with both SUV and SUV Coupe body styles.
It will be sold with three different powertrain options, with prices starting at R2,389,000.
Engine

The base model is simply known as the Cayenne Black Edition, which is fitted with a 3.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine.
This produces a total of 260kW and 500Nm, which is transferred to all four wheels via an eight-speed Tiptronic S automatic gearbox.
This allows the Porsche to accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 6.0 seconds, and reach a top speed of 248km/h.
Next up is the e-hybrid, which combines a 3.0-litre turbocharged block with an electric motor and a 25.9kWh battery.
The larger engine and electrical assistance means the hybrid generates a substantial 346kW and 650Nm, cutting down the 0-100km/h time to 4.9 seconds.
It can also travel for 86km using just the battery, though the top speed is limited to 135km/h in this mode.
Lastly, there’s the S e-hybrid, which is an even more powerful version of the plug-in hybrid with access to 382kW and 750Nm.
This model boasts an acceleration time of 4.7 seconds and a higher top speed of 263km/h.
Features

The special-edition Cayenne comes standard with the Sport Design package, Exterior package, and Interior package, all of which add high-gloss black finishes to various components.
This treatment even extends to the side mirrors, and the brand’s iconic logo.
Despite its name, the Black Edition is not exclusively sold in black, as customers still have a choice of several colours such as Quartzite Grey Metallic, Vanadium Grey Metallic, Dolomite Silver Metallic and Carrara White Metallic.
Buyers can also customise the interior with an optional Slate Grey or two-tone aesthetic for the seats and other surfaces.
Additionally, Porsche has expanded the equipment list for the SUV, adding Lane Change Assist, a surround-view camera with Active Parking Assist, new 21-inch wheels with centre caps featuring the full-colour Porsche crest, HD Matrix LED headlights, LED door projectors that show the Porsche logo, Comfort Seats with 14-way electric adjustment, Porsche crests on the headrests, a Bose stereo with Dolby Digital surround sound, and black leather upholstery.
The luxury automaker also allows customers to individually customise their purchase through the Sonderwunsch programme, offering personalised details for things like the vehicle key, floor mats, door sills, and storage compartments.
