Nissan Magnite price slashed by up to R40,000 in South Africa

Nissan has slashed the price of the Magnite Turbo variants in South Africa by up to R40,800 in a bid to improve the vehicle’s competitiveness in the current economic climate.

The reductions vary from 4% to 10% across the various Magnite classes, and Nissan is also offering a R10,000 cash rebate on select models for the second quarter of 2025.

“This move supports the brand’s efforts to provide higher-premium, greater value compact SUVs at a more competitive rate to better meet consumers’ changing price appetites,” said the automaker.

The Magnite Turbo prices have been adjusted as follows:

“We wanted to align our model pricing to the needs of the local market, giving South African drivers access to higher-spec compact SUVs with exceptional performance and 5-star Global NCAP-rated safety features,” said Maciej Klenkiewicz, Managing Director of Nissan South Africa.

“We’re confident this will appeal to increasingly price-sensitive buyers, and attract new fans to the exceptional value offered by the Nissan brand.”

What’s included

The Magnite received a major update in late 2024, adding new features across the range.

The base Visia units come standard with LED daytime running lights, all-electric windows, electric side mirrors, a multifunction steering wheel, cloth seats, six speakers, a 12V socket, automatic air conditioning, hill assist, ABS, tyre-pressure monitoring, rear parking sensors, and six airbags.

The mid-range Acenta then adds keyless entry and start, LED headlights, an anti-dazzle rearview mirror, a 7-inch TFT instrument cluster, an air purifier for the aircon, a reverse camera, and an 8.0-inch infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The turbocharged version of the Acenta also has cruise control and a leather steering wheel.

At the top of the class is the Acenta Plus, which rounds out the spec sheet with two-tone brown/black leatherette upholstery, ambient lighting, a cooled glove box, and a 360-degree camera.

As for the engine, you can expect a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine with 74kW and 160Nm, which connects to the front wheels.

This can either be paired with a five-speed manual or a continuously variable transmission (CVT).

The manual has an average fuel consumption of 5.2l/100km, while the CVT goes through roughly 6.0l/100km.

Each purchase comes with a 6-year/150,000km warranty and a 3-year/30,000km service plan.
