New MG ZS Pro launched in South Africa – Pricing and specifications

MG has officially launched the new ZS Pro in South Africa.

The ZS Pro is the Chinese carmaker’s new mid-range crossover, slotting between the ZS and the larger HS SUV.

The new vehicle is available in two specifications – the Comfort and Luxury – with prices starting at R397,600.

Engine

The new MG is equipped with a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine that generates 125kW and 275Nm.

It uses a continuously variable transmission, which sends power down to the front wheels.

As a result, the crossover achieves an average fuel consumption of 6.9l/100km.

Features

The ZS Pro kicks off with the Comfort, which comes standard with LED projector headlights, LED daytime running lights and taillights, and 17-inch “tele-dial” alloy rims.

It also has imitation leather upholstery, a six-way manually adjustable driver’s seat and a four-way adjustable front passenger seat, a leather multifunction steering wheel, manual air conditioning, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 10.25-inch infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Additionally, the MG has safety and assistance functions comprising ABS, four airbags, Isofix child seat mounts, cruise control, tyre pressure monitoring, hill assist, traction control, rear parking sensors, and a rearview camera.

Anyone who upgrades to the Luxury can also expect automatic headlights, 18-inch alloys, rain-sensing wipers, keyless entry and start, an electric driver’s seat with lumbar support, automatic climate control, heated front seats, adaptive cruise control, a larger 12.3-inch dual display for the driver and infotainment systems, and a panoramic sunroof.

Pricing

The South African pricing for the MG ZS Pro is as follows:

  • MG ZS Pro 1.5T Comfort – R397,600
  • MG ZS Pro 1.5T Luxury – R431,500

This includes a 5-year/200,000km warranty and a 5-year/60,000km service plan.
