New Jetour T2 debuts in South Africa – Pricing and specifications
The Jetour T2 has officially made its debut in South Africa.
The T2 and its sibling, the T1, are the first models in the Chinese automaker’s T-series of outdoor-themed SUVs, offering something different to the Dashing and X70 Plus that went on sale last year.
Both vehicles were showcased at a media event in Cape Town this weekend, and Jetour confirmed that sales will begin in mid-November across its network of 55 dealerships across Southern Africa.
The T1 and T2 share a unibody platform and engine selection, and the main difference comes down to size, styling and, of course, pricing.
We’ve already covered the T1, so it’s time to look at what the bigger T2 has to offer.
Engine

Like the T1, the T2 is sold with either a 1.5-litre or 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine.
The former is located on the entry-level Aspire and generates 125kW and 270Nm, which is transmitted to the front wheels.
The higher-spec Xplora and Odyssey grades, on the other hand, are treated to the more powerful 2.0-litre block.
These units can tap into 180kW and 375Nm, and have access to the brand’s XWD Intelligent four-wheel-drive (4WD) system.
The 4WD models also have eight drive settings, including modes for Sport, Snow, Mud, Sand, and “X-mode.”
All three versions of the T2 are fitted with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
Features
As its name suggests, the T2 is bigger than the T1, though not by much:
| Dimension | Jetour T1 | Jetour T2 |
|---|---|---|
| Length | 4,705mm | 4,785mm |
| Width | 1,967mm | 2,006mm |
| Height | 1,843mm | 1,880mm |
| Wheelbase | 2,810mm | 2,800mm |
| Ground clearance | 200mm | 220mm |
While the two cars are very similar for the most part, Jetour claims that the T2 is the more “rugged and adventure-ready” 4×4 while the T1 is “designed for city streets and beyond.”
As far as equipment is concerned, the company has not yet published an extensive breakdown of the Aspire, Xplora, and Odyssey’s kit.
For now, the carmaker has simply listed a few of the SUV’s biggest selling points, starting with a 540-degree camera system, rear parking sensors, and tyre pressure monitoring.
It also comes with 19-inch alloy rims, a roof rack, auto-folding side mirrors, privacy glass, illuminated door sills, and LED lighting, from the automatic headlamps to the taillights and daytime running lights.
Inside, it has a large 15.6-inch floating infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a Sony stereo, and leather seats with red stitching.
