New Changan CS75 Pro launched in South Africa – Pricing and features

The Changan CS75 Pro has officially gone on sale in South Africa.

Changan is a new Chinese car brand that made its local debut this month with four new vehicles, comprising the CS75, the Alsvin sedan, the Hunter bakkie, and the Deepal S07 crossover.

The CS75 is a new midsize SUV available in four specifications, including two models with seating for seven people, and prices start at R429,900.

Engine

All four versions of the Pro are equipped with a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine, which develops 138kW and 300Nm.

It also has a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, which sends power down to the front wheels.

As a result, it has an average fuel consumption of 7.5l/100km, giving it a range of 733km on its 55-litre tank.

Features

The new Changan has two trim levels – the CS and the CE – both of which are available with five or seven seats.

The base CS comes standard with 19-inch alloy wheels, automatic LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, keyless entry and start, a multifunction steering wheel, manually adjustable front seats, PVC upholstery, dual-zone climate control, six speakers, a 7-inch digital driver display, and a 10.25-inch infotainment screen with smartphone mirroring.

It also has safety and assistance functions comprising cruise control, a rearview camera, rear parking sensors, hill start and descent control, ABS, electronic stability control, traction control, and four airbags.

Upgrading to the CE will then add a leather steering wheel, electric front seats with heating and ventilation, leather upholstery, a larger 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, voice commands, a panoramic sunroof, adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, front parking sensors, and a 360-degree camera.
