New Renault Kiger Turbo launched in South Africa – Pricing and features

Renault has officially launched the new Kiger Turbo in South Africa.

The facelifted crossover made its debut in November 2025, though the initial roster was limited to three non-turbocharged 1.0-litre units.

Now, the French carmaker has taken the cover off the more powerful Turbo, which is available in three specifications with prices starting at R278,999.

“Building on the updated Naturally Aspirated Kiger range introduced in November 2025, the new Kiger Turbo steps forward with enhancements you can see and feel, all anchored by Renault’s philosophy of attainable innovation,” said the company.

Powertrain

The new Kiger is fitted with a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that develops 74kW and 160Nm, which is 21kW and 64Nm more than the naturally aspirated units.

It is available on the mid-range Techno and top-end Iconic trim levels, the former of which is only sold with a five-speed manual gearbox.

The Iconic, on the other hand, can be had with either the manual or an “X-Tronic” continuously variable transmission (CVT).

If you opt for a manual, you can expect an average fuel consumption of 5.0l/100m, which increases to 6.0l/100km with the CVT.

The Renault also comes with Multi-Sense driving modes, letting drivers switch between Eco, Normal, and Sport.

Features

Since the Turbo models are positioned at the top of the range, buyers can naturally expect a fair amount of equipment.

The Techno comes standard with roof rails, LED headlights and daytime running lights, 16-inch wheels, a full-size spare wheel, and a 405-litre boot.

It is also sold with keyless entry and start, a multifunction steering wheel, all-electric windows, dual-tone cloth seats, automatic air conditioning with rear vents, a cooled glove box, a 7-inch TFT instrument cluster, and an 8-inch infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

This is in addition to safety and assistance functions like a rearview camera, rear parking sensors, ABS, tyre pressure monitoring, six airbags, and electronic stability control.

The Iconic then builds on this with 16-inch diamond-cut Evasion alloy rims, rain-sensing wipers, an artificial leather steering wheel, ventilated leatherette seats, a wireless charging pad, and a Multiview camera.

Customers also have six colours to choose from – Autumn Yellow, Grey, Red, Blue, White and Silver.
