New R6 million Range Rover for South Africa – Pricing and features

Land Rover has pulled the covers off its newest, ultra-luxury SUV, the Range Rover SV Ultra, which will launch in South Africa soon.

The Ultra will arrive with a R5,729,100 price tag, positioning it near the top of the SV line-up, between the two SV Black Edition models.

Martin Limpert, Global Managing Director, Range Rover, called the Ultra one of the brand’s finest expressions of luxury.

“Its distinct character is defined by new and exclusive exterior and interior finishes, and by world‑first in‑car audio technologies that set a new benchmark for immersion and wellbeing. This is far more than Ultra in name.”

Features

The Range Rover SV Ultra introduces a new paint finish, which Land Rover named “Titan Silver” and has reserved exclusively for the new model due to its “special formulation”.

The finish uses genuine, fine aluminium flake and advanced pigment technology to create a highly reflective, mirror-like surface.

Beyond the exclusive paint job, the SV Ultra’s exterior features Satin Platinum Atlas and silver chrome accents, which elevate the grille and iconic side graphic.

The luxury SUV has been fitted with 23-inch alloy wheels, which are finished with satin platinum inserts, and all-new Range Rover centre caps.

Inside, the SV Ultra has been finished in an exclusive light duo‑tone of Orchid White and Cinder Grey, featuring advanced materials

Its seats feature an intricate new laser‑crafted mosaic pattern for the first time, and a new rattan palm veneer that adds texture to the interior.

The veneer is finished in a brighter tone, extending beneath the single touchscreen infotainment centre, and through the cabin to the electrically deployable club table in the rear.

Range Rover’s signature SV gloss white ceramic finishes can be found alongside colour-matched Orchid Pearl SV speakers, Orchid White seatbelts and SV Ultra‑branded treadplates.

As can be expected in a top-spec Range Rover, the SV Ultra features an elongated scatter cushion, this time introducing Kvadrat remix textile, made from a durable wool-and-recycled-polyester blend.

Beyond the luxury trim and finishes, the SV Ultra features a comprehensive tech suite, including world-first in-car audio technology.

The Electrostatic Sound system, available as an option exclusive to SV models, features 21 lightweight thin-film transducers which create personal “auditoriums” for each seat.

These panels are integrated within the headrests, seatbacks, and existing speaker locations, and supported by five existing bass loudspeakers and Body and Soul Seats (BASS).

BASS technology uses AI-optimised software to generate in‑seat pulsations for a deeply immersive listening experience, and is available in both the first and second rows of the SV Ultra.

Performance

As can be found in the rest of the SV line-up, the Range Rover SV Ultra is fitted with Land Rover’s powerful P615 4.4-litre turbocharged petrol V8 engine and an eight-speed automatic gearbox.

This configuration produces 452kW and 750Nm, at a not-so-economical rate of 11.8l/100km, driving all four wheels to a top speed of 261km/h with an impressive 4.5-second 0-100 acceleration time.

As with the rest of the range, it also has electronic air suspension for improved comfort and rear-wheel steering, which greatly reduces the vehicle’s turning circle.
