New Peugeot panel van lands in South Africa – Pricing and features

French carmaker Peugeot has launched its all-new Partner panel vans in South Africa, with one variant offering a 1,000kg payload capacity.

The panel van arrives in two derivatives –  a short-wheelbase (SWB) and a long-wheelbase (LWB) variant – with prices starting from R479,900.

Its arrival signals the Stellantis-owned brand’s continued expansion in the light commercial vehicle segment, as demand for these grows.

According to Pro One LCV Brand Head at Stellantis South Africa, Moeketsi Mapogo, the Partner represents an important step in the growth of the Peugeot brand in South Africa.

“As we continue to expand in the light commercial vehicle market, businesses are under increasing pressure to do more with less, making affordable and dependable mobility essential,” he said.

“The new Partner is designed to meet that need, combining low running costs, practical functionality and modern technology in a commercial vehicle built for everyday business demands.”

Performance

Both Partner derivatives are fitted with a 1.6-litre HDi diesel engine, capable of producing 68kW and 230Nm, which it sends to the front wheels through a 5-speed manual transmission.

Its high torque spec allows for low-speed pulling power in urban settings, welcoming frequent stop-start operation.

The Partner’s configuration allows for a very frugal 5.1l/100km diesel consumption, which, combined with a 50-litre fuel tank, enables a 980km range between fuel stops.

The SWB setup offers business owners a 1,817mm load length, which is extended to 2,167mm in the LWB model, enabling a payload capacity of up to 1,000kg.
