Audi has expanded the Q3 line-up in South Africa with the new Urban Edition variants, priced at R791,780 for the SUV and R817,470 for the Sportback body styles.
The Urban Editions bring a generous selection of standard items that are frequently chosen as optional extras by Q3 buyers, which would have been more expensive had they been selected individually.
They follow the launch of the Black Edition models in March which are positioned as the flagship entries in the Q3 family.
“Following an overwhelmingly positive response from customers and the media alike to our recently launched Q3 Black Edition models, we’ve chosen to expand the Q3 special-edition offering to include this new Urban Edition trim line,” said Tarryn Knight, Head of Product, Marketing, and PR at Audi South Africa.
Urban Edition specifications
The new Q3 Urban Edition derivatives feature a number of add-ons that are usually only available as optional extras, comprising:
- Comfort key (keyless entry and start)
- Electric tailgate
- Parking aid Plus
- Rear-view camera
- 18-inch alloy wheels
- Panoramic glass sunroof
This is in addition to the crossover’s existing equipment, which encompasses LED lights, rain-sensing wipers, dual-zone climate control, leatherette upholstery, a leather multifunction steering wheel, a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a digital driver’s display, ambient lighting, cruise control, hill-hold assist, hill-descent control, and rear parking sensors.
The Urban Editions are exclusively available with the entry-level “35 TFSI” powertrain, taking the form of a 1.4-litre, turbo-petrol motor mated with a seven-speed, dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
The setup generates 110kW and 250Nm and propels the Audi to 100km/h in 9.3 seconds on its way to a top speed of 207km/h, while average fuel usage is pegged at 7.2l/100km.
The Audi Drive Select system is also included, offering Auto, Comfort, Dynamic, and Individual drive modes.
Each purchase of the new Q3 Urban Edition carries a 1-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty and a 5-year/100,000km Audi Freeway service and maintenance plan.
