Special-edition Audi Q5 now available in South Africa – Pricing and features
Audi has launched the Q5 and SQ5 Black Edition models in South Africa following the debut of the A3, Q2, and Q3 Black Editions earlier this year.
A total of six models of the special-edition Q5 are on offer spanning SUV and Sportback body styles with the most affordable version coming in at R1,210,500, as provided by our informants at Duoporta Vehicle Information Specialists.
The Black Edition derivatives bring a number of usually optional features as standard that would cost plenty more had they been specified individually.
What you get
The Q5 and Q5 Sportback Black Editions are equipped as standard with the S Line body kit in addition to the Black Styling Plus package which sees the grille, bumper and window trims, exterior badging, roof rails, and door mirrors all painted black.
Furthermore, they get 20-inch, five-segment alloy wheels finished in Graphite Gray.
Inside the cabin, the special editions feature a flat-bottom steering wheel, leatherette door armrests, the upgraded MMI Navigation Plus infotainment system with Audi Connect services, Sports seats with electric adjustability, gloss black interior surfaces, extra USB ports for the rear row, and the Storage and Luggage Package that comprises netting behind the front seats and in the boot to keep items in place.
Other highlights include keyless entry and start, a panoramic sunroof, a rear-view camera, lane-change assist, rear-collision detection, and a trailer hitch.
Over and above what is already included in the normal Q5 Black Editions, the SQ5 gets Matrix LED headlights, adaptive air suspension, unique 21-inch alloys, a wireless smartphone charger, a Bang & Olufsen stereo, and automatic park assist.
The Black Editions are available with one turbo-diesel (TDI) and two turbo-petrol (TFSI) engines, the specifications of which are detailed below:
