New Range Rover Sport SV for South Africa – Pricing and features

Range Rover has introduced the Sport SV Edition Two to South Africa from a starting price of R3,971,500.

The SV Edition Two is available in four distinct design curations that enhance its imposing road presence, and it benefits from a host of performance-oriented upgrades in comparison to its standard siblings.

“Orders for the Range Rover Sport SV Edition Two will be available from August 2024, with deliveries commencing early 2025,” the domestic arm of the British marque confirmed to TopAuto.

Four individual personalities

The first curation in the new Range Rover Sport SV Edition Two collection is the Blue Nebula specification.

This model features a matte Blue Nebula exterior paint inspired by the Northern Atlantic coast, containing a hint of green and finished with a colour-shifting effect.

The unique hue is complemented by the new Satin Forged Carbon exterior pack, a painted carbon fibre bonnet, 23-inch forged black alloy wheels, and Blue Nebula brake calipers.

Inside, the SV Performance Seats are finished in Light Cloud and Ebony Windsor leather.

The second curation incorporates a Marl Grey Gloss exterior paired with a Gloss Carbon Twill pack, Exposed Carbon Twill bonnet, and 23-inch Carbon Gloss wheels with Sunrise Copper calipers.

The cabin of this variation is offered with Rosewood finishes and Ebony Windsor leather.

The third curation wears a Sunrise Copper Satin exterior finish with the Satin Carbon Twill exterior pack, painted carbon fibre bonnet, and 23-inch forged black alloy wheels with red anodised calipers.

Ebony Windsor leather seats are standard in this model.

The fourth and final exclusive curation boasts a Ligurian Black Gloss exterior with the Satin Carbon Twill exterior pack, exposed carbon fibre bonnet, and 23-inch Carbon Gloss wheels with contrasting Nano Yellow brake calipers.

It is completed with the Cinder and Ebony interior with Knit/Ultrafabrics artificial leather seat coverings.

For each variation of the Sport SV Edition Two, clients can opt for new 22-inch diamond-turned alloy wheels with Satin Dark Grey contrast as well as different brake caliper colours.

The exterior of each curation can be specified with a body-coloured roof alongside the new Satin Forged Carbon Fibre Pack or the Twill Carbon Fibre Pack introduced on SV Edition One, depending on the client’s preference and the paint finish.

Inside, new Satin Forged Carbon Fibre trim finishers can be specified to match the exterior, with Twill Carbon Fibre trim finishers with matching carbon fibre seatbacks also available.

Every buyer further has the option to get the seats finished in either Knit/Ultrafabrics artificial leather or full Windsor leather.

Standard equipment in the aggressive new Range Rover encompasses SV Performance Seats featuring integrated headrests, carbon fibre backboards, an illuminated SV logo, and more sculpted bolsters to hold the driver and front passenger securely in place during high-performance driving.

These chairs provide 16-way electric adjustability alongside heating and cooling functions, as well as the “Body and Soul” in-car seat sensory technology.

The Body and Soul system converts sound into “deeply immersive and nuanced physical bass” for an enveloping music experience. It also has six wellness modes, ranging from calm to invigorating, that reduce stress and improve concentration for users.

The matching rear seats, which are heated and cooled, now provide a more dynamic design with pronounced side bolsters for enhanced support and retain powered recline and 60/40 split-folding functionality.

Additionally, the SV Edition Two models get a new steering wheel with more pronounced thumb grips, a thicker rim, and an exclusive illuminated SV Mode button.

Completing the revisions are enlarged gear-shift paddles that incorporate innovative LED edge-lighting technology which sees the +/- symbols illuminated white when the vehicle is switched on, and red when it is switched into SV mode.

Propelling the Range Rover is a twin-turbocharged, 4.4-litre, V8 petrol motor with mild-hybrid technologies generating an astonishing 467kW and 750Nm – with up to 800Nm on tap in Dynamic Launch mode.

Power is relayed to the tarmac via an eight-speed automatic gearbox and intelligent all-wheel drive, enabling the SUV to eclipse 100km/h in as little as 3.7 seconds on its way to a top speed of 290km/h.

It also comes with the 6D Dynamics suspension system that electronically controls body pitch and roll to maintain a near-level stance during extreme acceleration, braking, and cornering.
