New Jetour X70 Plus goes on sale in South Africa – Pricing and features

Jetour has made its official debut in South Africa with two vehicles – the Dashing and the X70 Plus.

The X70 Plus is the larger of the two models and is now on sale with two derivatives that begin at R454,900.

Features

The X70 is a seven-seater SUV that measures 4,724mm in length, 1,900mm in width, and 1,720mm in height, making it comparable to something like the VW Tiguan Allspace.

It has an assertive front end characterized by an octagonal grille complemented by automatic LED headlights and daytime running light clusters in both a horizontal and vertical configuration.

At the back, you’ll find an electric tailgate, a quad exhaust system, and a horizontal LED taillamp bar, while the sides feature auto-folding side mirrors and 19-inch alloy wheels.

It also comes in one of six colours: Onyx Black, Slate Grey, Ash Grey, Forest Green, Serene Silver, or Glacier White.

The launch selection consists of two trim levels – Momentum and Deluxe.

The Momentum gets the ball rolling with keyless entry and start, black synthetic leather upholstery with red stitching, a leather multifunction steering wheel with paddle shifters, a six-way electronically-adjustable driver’s seat, a front armrest with heating and cooling functions, blue ambient lighting, automatic climate control with rear vents, a 50W wireless charger, four speakers, four USB ports, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and two 10.25-inch displays for the instrument cluster and media systems.

This is on top of safety and assistance functions such as front and front-side airbags, tyre pressure monitoring, electronic stability control, traction control, ABS, hill assist, cruise control, rear parking sensors, and a 360-degree camera.

The top-spec Deluxe units will then throw in heated side mirrors with welcome light projections, rain-sensing wipers, illuminated door sills, a panoramic sunroof with a shade, six speakers, eight-colour ambient lighting, side curtain airbags, blind spot detection, lane-keep assist, and rear cross-traffic alert.

Engine

The X70 Plus makes use of the the same 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine as the Dashing.

The 1.5l mill produces a total of 115kW and 230Nm, which is transmitted to the front wheels through a six-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

It also has a top speed of 180km/h, and an average fuel economy of 7.8l/100km.

Pricing

The South African pricing for the new Jetour X70 Plus is as follows:

  • Jetour X70 Plus 1.5T Momentum – R454,900
  • Jetour X70 Plus 1.5T Deluxe – R484,900

This includes a 5-year/150,000km warranty and a 5-year/60,000km service plan, with an additional 10-year/1-million kilometre engine warranty for the first owner.
