More affordable Chery Tiggo 8 Pro launched in South Africa – Pricing

Chery has launched a new entry-level model for the Tiggo 8 Pro, drastically reducing its price tag in the process.

The new unit, called the Executive +, starts at R529,900, making it R80,000 cheaper than the previous base model.

What’s more, the company is currently running a promotion on the Executive +, reducing its sticker even further to just R499,900 for a limited time.

Features

Despite its lower price tag, the new Tiggo 8 still comes with plenty of kit, starting with 18-inch alloy wheels, a diamond-effect grille with an illuminated Chery logo, automatic LED headlights, roof rails, privacy glass, and a panoramic sunroof.

There are also eight different colours to choose from, namely Khaki White, Carbon Crystal Black, Phantom Grey, Nasdaq Silver, Tech Grey, Roland Purple, Aurora Green, and Rhine Blue.

Inside, the seven-seater SUV is decked out with black leather upholstery, and the front seats offer electronic adjustment, heating, and memory settings.

The Chery also provides keyless entry and start, a leather multifunction steering wheel, multi-colour ambient lighting, dual-zone climate control with rear vents, a cooled glove compartment, three USB ports, an eight-speaker Sony stereo, voice commands, a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, and a 10.25-inch floating touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Also important to note is that the Tiggo still offers a suite of safety and assistance items, including six airbags, ABS, stability control, traction control, ISOFIX seat anchors, lane departure warning, blind spot detection, front collision warning, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, rear parking sensors and a 360-degree camera.

Engine

The Executive + has the same engine as its more expensive counterpart, comprising a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine.

This produces a total of 145kW and 290Nm, which is sent down to the front wheels.

Combined with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, the Chery achieves an average fuel consumption of 7.2l/100km.
