New limited-edition Ford Territory for South Africa – Pricing and features

Ford has unveiled a new range-topping model for the Territory known as the Dark Edition.
The new entry is a limited-edition version of the SUV that boasts an assortment of exclusive cosmetics and features – all for a slight price increase of R7,500.
Features
The Dark Edition, based on the flagship Titanium model, has an eye-catching design with an exclusive satin black grille, high-gloss black skid plates and mirror caps, and new fog lamp accents.
It also features a set of distinctive 19-inch Ebony Black alloy wheels, which are intended to complement the high-gloss black two-tone roof, roof rails, and window trim.
There’s a new gloss black Territory badge at the rear, too.
Customers can choose from one of four new colours, comprising Crystal Pearl White, Lustrous Grey, Panther Black and Ruby Red.
The new aesthetic carries over to the interior, where you’ll find a charcoal black headliner and pillars set against black perforated leather seats, door trim, and panel inserts.
The leather upholstery includes a Cyber Orange stitching pattern for added flair.
A high-gloss black strip has been added to the instrument panel, which helps to frame the 12.3-inch digital driver display and 12.3-inch infotainment screen.
As is the case with the standard models, the Dark Edition supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which allows your phone to connect to an eight-speaker stereo.
The SUV also has a wireless charging pad and four USB ports located in the front and rear.
Safety equipment on the Territory then includes blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control with Stop and Go, pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, electronic stability control, hill start assist, hill descent control, tyre pressure monitoring, and six airbags.
The Dark Edition also boasts a new 360-degree camera for improved all-round visibility.
All of this is on top of the kit you’ll find on the Titanium, such as electronically-adjustable front seats, keyless entry and start, automatic climate control, parking sensors, automatic headlights, and rain-sensing wipers.
Engine

The Dark Edition is fitted with the same powertrain as the rest of the Territory family, which means you can expect a 1.8-litre turbocharged EcoBoost petrol block with 138kW and 318Nm.
This is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox connecting to the front wheels, which results in an average fuel consumption of 7.0l/100km.
The SUV also comes with an Auto Stop/Start function and driving modes for Eco, Normal, Sport and Mountain.
