Volvo online car store launched in South Africa

Volvo South Africa has launched My.Volvoa new site that allows South Africans to purchase or rent a new car online.

The online store is a first for Volvo in the sub-Saharan Africa region, and is available exclusively in South Africa.

“My.Volvo offers a smooth, convenient, and secure end-to-end vehicle purchase process,” said the company.

The process takes five steps, can be done in 20 minutes, and offers a complete purchasing experience – from selecting the vehicle to the final contract, according to Volvo.

Optional extras can also be detailed during this process, and every Volvo model is available.

The vehicles can be rented, financed, or bought in full from the store – and customers can opt to get their cars delivered to their home, too.

All vehicles then come with a 5-year/100,000km warranty plan.

According to Greg Maruszewski, managing director at Volvo South Africa, this new online platform shows that the way people buy cars has changed.

“In 2020, Volvo Cars more than doubled its number of cars sold online versus 2019,” he said.

“Going forward, the emphasis on online will grow.”

Maruszewski also confirmed that the XC40 Recharge Pure Electric P8 is coming to South Africa this year, and that it is one of a new family of cars to be unveiled over the coming years – all of which will be available online.

“It places our customers firmly in the driving seat when it comes to the purchasing process, and we have no doubt that they will like this,” concludes Maruszewski.
