Ford has launched a new accessory pack for the Ranger XL bakkie in South Africa.
Having previously introduced new add-ons for the Ranger XLT and Everest XLT, the Blue Oval has turned its attention to the entry-level XL.
“The Ranger XL has long stood out as the value leader in the Ranger line-up, offering South Africans a no-nonsense, capable and dependable vehicle at an accessible price point,” said the company.
“Now, Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa is elevating this proven workhorse with the introduction of a stylish new accessory pack on XL double cabs, giving customers the opportunity to add individuality and road presence without compromising the XL’s rugged capability and everyday practicality.”
The Ranger XL Double Cab accessory pack adds a new decal over the rear arch and a distinctive sports bar meant to embody “the Ranger life” spirit.
It also adds a durable spray-in bedliner to protect the load box, and an exclusive new tailgate decal.
Last but not least, it adds a new set of 18-inch alloy wheels taken from the high-end Wildtrak models.
“While accessory personalisation is often associated with higher-spec models, there is strong demand among new Ranger XL owners to express their extroverted personality and lifestyle,” said Sunil Sewmohan, Executive Director, Product Marketing, at Ford South Africa.
“Ford has already seen success with its popular Ranger XLT accessory pack and we’re excited to introduce the same opportunity for customization and enhanced styling to new Ranger XL customers.”
The accessory pack is made up of Genuine Ford Accessories and Ford Licences Accessories, which are engineered to the same standards as the company’s factory-fitted components.
It is priced at R30,000 and is supported by the manufacturer’s 4-year/120,000km vehicle warranty.
Importantly, the accessory pack is only available when initially purchasing the vehicle and cannot be fitted at a later stage.
