Special-edition Land Rovers on their way – Photos

Special editions of Land Rover’s Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque will be available in South Africa from the fourth quarter of 2021.

The new Discovery Sport Urban Edition is based on the top-of-the-line R-Dynamic trim, and adds exclusive shadow aluminium finishes, Luxtec suede cloth seats, and a black contrast roof.

It will be available in six exterior colours – Namib Orange, Carpathian Grey, Firenze Red, Santorini Black, Ostuni White, and Hakuba Silver – and comes as standard with a powered tailgate, a rear-view camera, and a ClearSight rear-view mirror.

Two four-cylinder engine options will then be available upon ordering your Urban Edition, with an eight-speed automatic transmission handling drive.

The D200 turbo-diesel variant produces 147kW and 430Nm, and pushes the SUV to 100km/h in 8.6 seconds.

The P250 model generates a higher 183kW, but less torque at 365Nm, resulting in a 7.8 second 0-100km/h acceleration time.

Range Rover Evoque Bronze Collection

On the Range Rover side of things, the Evoque Bronze Collection Special Edition builds on the Evoque S specification through distinctive copper side vents, exclusive satin grey 20-inch wheels, and a Corinthian Bronze contrast roof.

“Available in three exterior colours – Carpathian Grey, Santorini Black, and Seoul Pearl Silver – the changes highlight the trademark floating roof and reductive exterior design of the Evoque,” said the company.

“Inside, natural grey ash veneers, unique Bronze Collection carpet mats with metal-capped corners, and ebony grained leather seats provide a heightened sense of luxury.”

A sliding panoramic roof is standard, too, along with LED headlights and daytime running lights, animated directional indicators, a rear-view camera, and a ClearSight rear-view mirror.

The full range of petrol and diesel Evoque engine options will be available for the Bronze Collection, as well as the P300e plug-in hybrid powertrain that offers up to 55km of pure electric range – according to Land Rover.

Pricing for these models has not been confirmed yet, but every vehicle will be sold with a 5-year/100,000km Land Rover care plan.

“All new or approved pre-owned Land Rover customers in South Africa also receive complimentary driver training at the state-of-the-art Experience facility in Lonehill, Johannesburg,” concludes Land Rover.
