
WeBuyCars buys an average of 7,250 vehicles per month, and sells an average of 6,925 vehicles per month.
These sales figures were detailed in Transaction Capital’s financial results for the six-months ended 31 March 2021.
Transaction Capital is a 49.9% shareholder in WeBuyCars, and reports on the performance of the company as a result.
The company stated that sales at WeBuyCars has improved substantially over the past year, following strict COVID-19 lockdowns in early 2020.
Average vehicles sales per month for WeBuyCars are listed below.
- 5,510 vehicles per month – January to March 2020
- 5,900 vehicles per month – June to September 2020
- 6,925 vehicles per month – October 2020 to March 2021
The sales figures for 2021 are also up substantially when compared to 2019.

Average selling price
The report went on to reveal the average selling price of a vehicle at WeBuyCars.
In the company’s H1 2021 period, the average selling price was R112,000.
This is up from R103,000 in H1 2020 and R101,500 in H1 2019.
Transaction Capital further revealed the amount of money WeBuyCars makes, and its expansion plans for the future.
WeBuyCars produced R4.68 billion in revenue during the period, with a headline earnings figure of R257 million.
Transaction Capital said it aims to increase its stake in WeBuyCars from 49.9% to 74.9%, and expects to open new WeBuyCars “vehicle supermarkets” in the near future.
This includes:
- New vehicle supermarket opening in Gauteng on 1 June 2021.
- Three vehicle supermarkets opening in next 18 months in Gauteng, Western Cape, and Eastern Cape – relocating to larger facility.
