These are the best cars in South Africa right now in every major category
The South African Guild of Motoring Journalists (SAGMJ) has announced the 41 semi-finalists for the 2021 South African Car of the Year (COTY) awards.
“The SA Guild of Motoring Journalists has run the South African Car of the Year competition since 1986 with one single aim – identify and reward automotive excellence,” said the Guild.
The finalists were chosen from a selection of 59 new vehicles that were released in the country between 1 November 2019 and 1 March 2021.
Eligible members of the SAGMJ cast their vote for the 40 COTY semi-finalists. However, two vehicles tied for 40th position, resulting in the 41 models we have here.
The vehicles span the following segments:

During the coming days, 25 SAGMJ members will vote for the finalist vehicles that will compete in the 2021 COTY competition.
