The City of Cape Town has announced that it will host another Traffic Fine Roadshow within the next week, giving motorists a chance to address their outstanding fines and warrants at a reduced cost.
In an official notice, the City announced that the next roadshow will be held in Parow from Saturday 12 to Saturday 19 September.
The service will be open to all members of the public on every day of the event, including Sunday. It will also be open on Friday, 11 September, to City staff and members of the public with “bulk representations” of 20 or more fines per visitor.
The event will start at 08h30 on all days. The end time will be determined by the roadshow coordinators based on demand and their ability to assist everyone in the queue.
Anyone who is still in the queue at the cut-off time will be given a ticket that will allow them to jump to the front of the queue the next day.
The roadshow will be held at the Parow Civic Centre on Tallent Road, just off Voortrekker Road.
The Traffic Fine Roadshow is an initiative created by the City that brings together the local traffic service, revenue department, municipal court representatives, and other internal departments.
It introduces all of these representatives in a single location, allowing motorists to access a number of services related to traffic infringements.
Most notably, individuals can inquire about their outstanding traffic fines and warrants and apply for a fine reduction.
They can also finalise payment of their fines and warrants and request assistance with no-admission-of-guilt fines, depending on the status of the fine in question.
The City said that any Warrant Administration Mark will be removed upon payment or finalisation of outstanding warrants.
A popular service
The roadshow has been brought back several times due to popular demand, as it offers a convenient avenue for motorists to address any traffic-related issues while potentially saving time and money.
At the same time, it allows the City to collect on a significant portion of its outstanding traffic fine backlog.
“These roadshows offer a win for all involved. The public can finalise fines and warrants at a single service point, saving them the trouble of multiple visits to different municipal courts,” said Mayoral Committee Member for Safety and Security, Alderman JP Smith.
“The benefit for the City is that we get to make a dent in the massive backlog of outstanding fines and the associated administration.”
During a previous roadshow held in Athlone in March 2026, the City received more than R16 million in resolved traffic fines and warrants.
“Experience has taught us that these roadshows are incredibly popular, so I do want to encourage those planning to attend to please be patient,” said Smith.
“All you need when joining the queue is your ID. If you are making representations on behalf of another person, you will also need an affidavit from them, confirming this, and a copy of their ID.”
