Jaguar has released the new F-Pace SVR, shortly after updating the F-Pace range.
This top-of-the-line model now has a South African starting price of R1,835,700 – and comes with a supercharged V8 engine.
In addition, it’s set apart from the standard range by 22-inch wheels, a quad-exhaust outlet, and sporty bumpers with active aerodynamics that reduce lift by 35% when compared to the outgoing model.
What’s new
The new Jaguar F-Pace SVR remains relatively untouched on the outside, while the inside underwent a thorough redesign.
The athletic SUV is fitted with Windsor leather seats; Alcantara inserts on the doors, dash, and seatbacks; as well as aluminium-patterned finishes that can be replaced with open-pore carbon fibre.
It also receives an SVR-exclusive steering wheel, dimpled leather gear lever, and zinc-alloy shift paddles that provide “heightened driver engagement”, said Jaguar.
A big focus for this update then went into the technology, as this SUV is treated to a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and an 11.4-inch curved infotainment display as standard.
The latter enables over-the-air software updates and active road noise cancellation, along with advanced driver assistance systems such as lane keep assist, active cruise control, emergency braking, a 360-degree camera, and front and rear parking sensors.
The Jaguar F-Pace scores a 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating, too.
Performance
Under the hood of the F-Pace SVR lies a 5.0-litre, V8, supercharged engine that generates 405kW and 700Nm – a 20Nm increase over the model it is replacing.
Power is delivered to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission, and a new Dynamic Launch function guarantees a 0-100km/h sprint of 4.0 seconds.
Furthermore, the SVR now reaches a top speed of 286km/h, while enlarged two-piece disc brakes provide ample stopping power.
Price
The Jaguar F-Pace SVR has a South African starting price of R1,835,700.
Each purchase includes a 5-year/100,000km Jaguar Care Plan and warranty.
